The collections
Pensively Poetic Scenes
Featured collection Photographic reflectionsA photo-poetic journey about life, through three perspectives: looking within ourselves, living our lives together, and revering this earth that we share. Move slowly. Relax. Contemplate, if you’re so moved. And return whenever, or wherever a Poetic Scene asks for another look.
Photo-Enhanced Poems & Epigrams
This collection brings traditional poems and shorter poetic thought together with photographs. It is offered as a brief holiday from the increasingly common use of emojis as convenient substitutes for words - an opportunity for reflection ... and an occasional chuckle.
Whimsically Poetic Scenes
As the title implies, these are intended to be light, playful and occasionally humorous. While they are consistent with the concept and construction of Poetic Scenes, the word “Poetic” is used facetiously. I hope at least a few tickle your funny bone.
Peacefully Poetic Scenes
A close relative of the original Pensively Poetic Scenes, this collection is also intended to provide the same respite from a world filled with constant distractions, but for those times you simply want to kick back and relax. So take the journey … as you chill!
“Last Writes”
A small collection of four very different pieces, linked less by topic or form than by a simple conviction that each deserved to be put into words. The first is a long didactic poem, written as a tribute to Ron Kovic (author of “Born on the 4th of July”) and to the triumph of personal growth. The second is a shorter piece titled “Truth and Science” (a topic close to my professional life), while the third offers a very different reading experience, titled “Silent Reflections”. The last is a short story that begins playfully; then take an unexpected turn.
